Controlled waters
The term ‘controlled waters’ refers to:
‘Rivers, streams, estuaries, lakes, canals, ditches, ponds and groundwater as far out as the UK territorial limit. The statutory definition is provided in Section 104 (1) of the Water Resources Act 1991 and Section 30A (d) of the Control of Pollution Act 1974.’
